Elliott has been drawing since he could hold a pencil, and in the water before he could walk- so the business of FishSmith Inc. is a good match. He began his work creating sportfishing and marine arwork at around 15, producing designs and T-shirts for the Edisto Marina on Edisto Island, SC where he spent his summers growing up. He created FishSmith Inc. in the summer of 2006 after graduating Cum Laud from the University of Florida. FishSmith has since been a welcome blessing to Elliott, allowing him to draw full-time as the business continues to grow. In addition to his marine illustrations, Elliott also pursues his artistic talents of music and oil painting.

Kevin Joyce is a native of St. Augustine, FL. He and Elliott have been good friends since childhood in Lake Mary, FL from elementary through high school. In those days, when he wasn't fishing or at the beach, Kevin spent much of his time out on the football field honing the skills which would eventually lead him to a college career as starting linebacker for Vanderbilt University. Kevin has always been proud of that decision, as it gave him three priceless opportunities- to play SEC ball for four years, to be a part of building a strong organization in its vital early stages, and to gain one of the most prestigious educations in the country. After graduating in 2006, Kevin was invited to both the Bears and Saints camps for consideration as a linebacker in the NFL. But when he saw that things weren't moving ahead, Kevin didn't slow down for a moment and headed out in a new direction- one where he could keep his knees for a little while longer, and once again pursue his passion of building a prestigous organization. Kevin hopes to help make FishSmith Inc. a nationally recognized brand name. ...And while his fondness remains for the city of Nashville which gave him some great college years, Kevin is a proud Floridian first and foremost, grateful to be back living in the state that he loves- where fishing and surfing are never more than a short drive away, if not a walk off his back porch.

Charles "Chick" McKaig has been printing Elliott's artwork since Elliott was 15 years old, and knows how to capture the flare of the hand-drawn illustrations on cotton cloth. The two realized in the spring of 2006 that with years of high sales in Elliott's summer home in Edisto Island, SC, the market for these stylish, high-quality sportfishing T-shirts was a large and hungry one.
